I KNEW YOU'D COME BACK FOR ME, DADDY!
"Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." Matthew 24:34-35
When my little girl was five years old. I took her to church with me when I needed to pick up some books. I asked her to sit in the office while I checked on a Bible study class that was having an event at the church. I visited with them for twenty minutes, and then realized I was running late, so I jumped in my car and headed home. My wife had just finished fixing dinner and putting everything on the table. She called for us to come sit down. When we gathered around the table, Cynthia asked, "Where's Taylor?" I gasped. I had left my daughter in my office at church!
I ran to my car and drove the couple of miles back to the church. When I got to my office, she was sitting in the same chair still looking at her books. I told her how sorry I was that I had forgotten her, and she said, "I knew you'd come back for me, Daddy."
Similarly, we can know that our Lord and Savior will come back for us. Jesus reminded us that the "earth will pass away," nut His words and His promises will last forever. We can always count on what He does, we who have trusted Him as our Savior and Lord will live with Him forever.
Prayer :
Lord Jesus, I look forward to the day of your return when I will joyfully say to you,
"I knew You'd come back for me!"
