Forgiven, Redeemed, Reborn

God the Father, has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of  His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. -Colossians 1:13-14

Did you hear that? In Jesus "we redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." Paul used this phrase when writing to the church in Colossae. It was a phrase worth emphasizing for the believers long ago, and it's phrase worth reinforcing in our minds today.
If we are in Christ, we have redemption from consequences of our sins through His blood. Our sinful state, our deadness apart from Christ, has been given new breath. We have been born again to a new life and a new destiny.
If we are in Christ, our sins are forgiven! Our mistakes and failures are no longer counted against us. We have pardon we could not have earned. Not only do we have redemption and forgiveness, not only are we righteous before the Father, but we have been delivered from the power of darkness. By the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we have ability not to continue in our sins.
Remember when Jesus forgave the adulterous woman brought before Him in John 8:1-12? After forgiving her, He told her to go and sin no more. If we are in Christ, sin no longer has ultimate power over us.
So be encouraged today! You are a new creation. God's mercies are new every day. You have redemption through Jesus blood, the forgiveness of your sins. The power of darkness will not prevail in your life!

Prayer : Father, help me know the fullness of Your love and grace. Help me daily in the victory, forgiveness, and redemption You give. In Jesus name, Amen.
