God Is Faithful
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
-1 Corinthians 1:9
Do you really believe that God is faithful? The same God who called you into a relationship with Him will always be faithful in that relationship. You will never discover a time when God isn't faithful.
There's a true story about nineteenth-century evangelist, missionary, and orphanage director George Mueller that clearly demonstrates the faithfulness of God. One morning, Mueller was informed that all the children in his orphanage were dressed and ready for school, but there was no food for breakfast. He instructed the three hundred children to be taken into the dining room and seated at the tables.
He thanked God for the food and waited. Within minutes, a baker knocked on the door. "Mr. Mueller," he said, "last night I couldn't sleep. Somehow I knew that you would need bread this morning. I got up and baked three batches for you. I will bring it in." Soon, there was another knock at the door. It was the milkman. His cart had broken down in front of the orphanage. The milk would spoil by the time the wheel was fixed. He asked George if he could use some free milk. George smiled as the milkman brought in ten large cans of milk. It was just enough for the three hundred thirsty children.
Because Muller's fellowship with God, he understood the faithfulness of God. The closer you grow to Jesus, the more you will begin to see how good and faithful He truly is.
Prayer : Faithful Father, help me to trust Your goodness and provision no matter what circumstances I encounter. Amen.
