How Can We Glorify God?

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:5-8

Humility is a choice. No one halfheartedly becomes humble. Instead, one determines with his or her mind to embrace the humble character of Christ on a daily basis. Paul told the Philippians to imitate Christ, history's greatest example of humble, selfless love. If believers follow in Christ's footsteps, the church will walk in unity.
Paul explained how Jesus, though He was fully God, humbled himself by leaving His heavenly throne to come to earth as a man. Christ chose the role of a servant when He could have expected people to serve Him: "The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many"
(Matthew 20:28). Jesus ultimately demonstrated His humility by His brutal death on the cross. He was treated like a common criminal, yet this gruesome, humble act of atonement made it possible for sinners like you and me to receive salvation.
Pause and meditate on the glorious worth of Jesus. The eternal King humbly embraced the role of servant. This is how to glorify your heavenly Father. Today will you walk in humility instead of pride? Will you reject entitlement by embracing the role of a servant?

Prayer : Dear God, help me to follow the example of Christ. Give me a spirit of humility and selfless love so that it may bring You glory and honor. Amen.
