No Expections
Peter opened his mouth and said: "In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ, He is Lord of all." -Acts 10:34-36
No expectations. Those two words are sometimes painful and isolating. No ticket, no entry. No money, no food. No degree, no job. No pedigree, No accolades, The exclusivity of these claims allows for no expectations. Ironclad realities with fixed results are not always negative, though. Every person who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). No expectations. God loves all people (John 3:16). No expectations. The gospel is for everyone (Romans 10:12). No expectations. But God's people didn't realize this truth.
After meeting Cornelius and a large group of Gentiles, the apostle Peter broadened the reach of the gospel beyond the Jewish people. In every nation, God will save those who fear Him and live for Him. The gospel reveals that God shows no partiality among the people of the earth, regardless of skin color, nationality, education, income level, or location. No one is beyond the reach of His grace. All categories of people without expectation will be present before the throne of God in eternity. (Revelation 5:9).
Have you given up on someone who needs to be saved? Or do you wonder if God can change certain "kinds" of people? Do you harbor any racial, social, or economic hatred toward any particular group? God does not show partiality and neither should we.
Prayer : Thank You, Lord, that Your grace has no boundaries. I worship You for saving me. Use me to lead others to Christ by sharing Your gospel. Amen.
