Pardon Me

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and did not love their lives to death. Revelation 12:10-11

In spring of 2015, a man by the name of Anthony Ray Hinton was released from prison after spending thirty years on death row. Hinton was released because it was discovered that he had been falsely accused and wrongly convicted of committing two murders. The psychological, physical, and emotional toll experienced by Hinton thirty years of his life stolen from him is unfathomable.
Hinton was innocent of the crime he had spent thirty years behind bars for, but you and I are 100 percent guilty of sins for which Jesus took the punishment. Even though we are forgiven, John told us in Revelation 12 that Satan constantly accuses us of wrongdoing. But unlike those who accused Hinton, Satan's accusations are often accurate.
Yet we have one unshakable bit of evidence to present our accuser, and that is the fact that Jesus paid the full penalty for our sins on the cross. The great news of the gospel is that blood of Jesus delivers us from the punishment we rightfully deserve! What Satan rightfully accuses, God graciously excuses though Jesus sacrificial death on our behalf!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, thank You for pardoning me and taking on the punishment for my wrongdoings. May I always praise You. Amen.
