Becoming More like Jesus

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of divine nature. - 2 Peter 1:3-4

To be a Christian means to be like Christ.And in order to be more like Him, we must let Him not our wishes guide our lives. His will for us must become far more important to us than our own desires for ourselves. Of course we can't be sinless this side heaven, but we can sin less. Is that our desire?
Also key to becoming more like Jesus is our attitude We do not to serve others; we get to serve others. We do not have praise Him; we get to praise Him. We do not have to give; we get to give.
Try having the attitude that even if no one else is going to have a great day in the Lord, you will. Choose to delight in the things of God rather than seeing them as duties. Choose every morning to live that new day on fire for God. 
So how can you become more Christlike? Here are some basics:

Rest in the Lord: pray throughout the day 
Nutrition: feed your soul with the Word of God daily
Exercise Your Faith: praise God, spend time with fellow believers, and talk about Jesus with unbelievers every day.

Prayer : Lord Jesus, help me to grow strong in You. Help me to be fit spiritually so that You can use me and so that when others see me, they get a glimpse of You in me! Amen.
