A MAN OF GOD

You, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:11-12

Paul mentioned the danger of false teachers three times in this epistle to Timothy, and each time Paul warned Timothy to resist them. After all, God had called Timothy to the ministry he was a proclaimed man of God.
in his Grace for You ministries, Pastor John MacArthur pointed out four characteristics that mark the man of God in contrast to the false teacher.
What he flees from: a man of God flees from "these things," such as the love of money, pride, disputes, envy, and strife (verses 3-10).
What he follows after: a man of God will pursue righteousness, doing what is right in God's eyes and man's living with personal integrity. He will also strive for godliness has to do with attitudes and motives. Right behavior flows from right motives (verse 11).
What he fights for: we are called to defend the faith, the body of Christ, truth, and God's Word
(verse 12; Jude verse 3).
What he is faithful to: a man of God, unlike false teachers, is faithful to blamelessness, obedience, and the gospel.

Prayer :

O Lord, help me to be faithful to You, to follow You, and to live for Your glory.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
