BY HIS SPIRIT

What man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:11-12

What does it mean to truly know another person? It means knowing his thoughts, his heart, and his nature, and that knowledge comes when we spend time with someone.
We certainly know ourselves. We know what we like and dislike, what makes us joyful or sad, what we love and whom we love. Now imagine having the ability to place your mind in another person's life so that he or she could come to know you, the real you. Well, that is what God has done for us as believers: He has placed His very Spirit in us so we can know the mind, heart, and nature of God. The Holy Spirit allows us to know God's love, His likes, and His dislikes. When we spend time with God in prayer, when we read His Word and worship Him, His Spirit enables us to come to know Him in an intimate and personal way.
Sadly, what many people know about God is only what someone else has told them about Him. They haven't yet experienced the amazing blessing of letting the Spirit of God reveal to them personally the deep truths of God.


Prayer :

Lord God, I long to know You better. Thank You for sending Your Spirit to help that happen. From Your Word, may He teach me what You want me to know about You for my good and especially for Your glory.
