DEALING WITH SIN

Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28


We who follow Christ look both backward and forward.
We look backward into history and see that Christ first came to this earth to deal with our sins. Our world is broken because we are broken: we are sinners. We stand guilty before God, yet the good news of the gospel is that Jesus came to deal with our sins.
The Son of God died on the cross bearing the guilt of our sins, and He died in our place. His sacrificial death atoned for our sins, and we who trust in Christ by faith receive the gracious gift of God's forgiveness.
And now we wait for Jesus to come a second time. He is not coming to deal with our sins He has already taken care of that but to bring the culmination of our salvation. Jesus is coming to finish the work of salvation He started and guaranteed He would complete.
Preacher Jerry Vines once said, "We don't fight for victory; we fight from victory." Our victory is ensured by what Christ did for us when He came the first time. Our eternal victory over sin and death is guaranteed, and our salvation will be completed when Jesus returns.

Prayer :

Father, thank You for sending Jesus as the sacrifice for my sins and thank You for the hope that He will return one day to make all things new. I can live in victory and hope today because of Jesus.
