LOOKING FOR THE ONE LOOKING FOR HIM

"When the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." John 15:26

Knowing that the Holy Spirit is also called the Helper may prompt the question "What is He going to help us do?"
One thing the Spirit helps believers do is fulfill the Great Commission. You and I can't in our own human power help a lost person recognize the need for Christ. We need the help of the Helper.
The Bible tells us that we are all born "dead in trespasses and sins" (Ephesians 2:1),
and dead people, as we know, can't see, hear, speak, or make decisions. It is the Spirit of God who enables the spiritually dead to see, hear, confess their sins, and choose to follow Jesus.
The Spirit of God testifies to the spiritually dead not only that what Jesus did dying on the cross, being buried, and being raised from the dead actually happened, but also that He did it for them. It is the Spirit who helps people recognize that Jesus died for their personal salvation.
And it is the Spirit of God who enables us to proclaim that truth to others after we accepted it for ourselves. As the resurrected Jesus promised, "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me" (Acts 1:8). We are commissioned to be Jesus witnesses, and we can be assured that when we are witnessing to someone, the Spirit testifying to that person as well. Purpose today to share the gospel with someone. Perhaps you will find someone who is looking for Him.

Prayer :

Lord, lead me today to a person whose heart in which You are already working. Use me in Your plan for his or her salvation.

Amen
