SAVING GRACE

By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Jesus is your saving grace. Salvation is the ultimate gift of God. He is the Giver of all good gifts, but most of all, He is the Giver of salvation. And what a wonderful gift He has given in the sacrificial death of His Son on our behalf. The gift of our salvation cannot be purchased. Neither is it a wage we can earn or reward for anything we have done. Our salvation is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus that we can receive only when we admit our sinfulness. And it is a gift of eternal value: it opens heavens to us.
God's grace has no strings attached. Jesus becomes our Savior not because of the good we have done or the good we might do. Jesus becomes our saving grace as an absolutely free and unmerited gift. Salvation was God's idea, and it was a gift wrapped in Jesus and given because "God so loved world" (John 3:16). What is your response to God's gift of love for you?

Prayer :

Dear God, thank you for the free gift salvation. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You that He died for me and opened the way for me to be in relationship with You, something I never could have done for myself. Thank You for walking with me through this life and for the promise of eternal life.

Amen
