THIS LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE

"No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take head how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him." Luke 8:16-18

Have you ever known a young woman who has just accepted a marriage proposal but didn't tell everyone she knew the good news? Probably not. She usually wants the world to know that she is soon to be a bride. And that is the kind of joy and passion with which we who follow Jesus are to share our knowledge of Him. The truth He has taught us is a tool to expel the darkness in the world. Jesus didn't share the news of salvation for the disciples ears only. Rather than hiding what the Teacher had taught, the disciples were to proclaim with their words and display with their behavior the realities of forgiven sins, abundant life, and unshakeable joy.
And as Jesus twenty first century disciples, you and I are to do the same today. Who in your path today needs to hear the truth that sins can be forgiven and that, despite the pain and suffering in this world, he or she can know joy, Let your light shine!

Prayer :

Father, thank You for calling me to recognize the Light of the World and for helping me walk in the Light. Give me boldness, I ask, so I might share your life giving truth with boldness and love.
