BE ASSURED AND BE PERSISTENT

God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those through faith patience inherit the promises. -Hebrews 6:10-12

It is helpful to remember that much of the letter to the Hebrews was written  with concern for unbelieving Jews. The writer desired that nonbelievers would realize that their only hope the only source assurance for the end of their lives lies in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The readers of this letter were modeling well what it means to live in that hope.
In this passage, the writer was very straightforward: God is not unjust.
He will neither forget nor ignore His followers who put their faith in action.
As the writer commended the believers wonderful and faithful ministry to all people, he commented that they were worthy of being imitated. What an affirmation!
Perhaps many of the nonbelieving Jews, however, were so steeped in their traditions that they simply didn't understand this new message, the gospel truth. The writer affirmed to the Hebrews that they were fine examples of love for the nonbelievers, and the writer encouraged them to persist, to follow in their forefathers footsteps. Serving God in this life ministering  to others would mean rejoicing in His fulfilled promises for eternity.

Prayer :

Dear God, please help me to have assurance enough to persist and preserve in my faith so I may be your light for nonbelievers around me.

Amen
