CALMNESS IN THE STORM

Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:14-16

Peace. It doesn't come in a pill. It can't be found in a bottle or bought. But peace is something all of us want and need. Peace is not the absence of problems, but the awareness of the presence of Jesus. He is the Peacemaker, the Peace Speaker, The Prince of Peace.
Peace is part of the legacy Jesus left to His followers: "I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind and heart!" (John 14:27).  However, we can never have the peace of God until we have the peace with God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. His peace then becomes not only a precious gift, but also a helpful guide in life.
How can you know you are making the right decisions? When there is peace ruling in your heart. The word rule means "to arbitrate" or "to umpire."
Whatever the sport, as long as you are playing correctly, the umpire is silent. Only when you go out of bounds or break a rule does the umpire speak up. So if you have a decision to make, allow God's Word to dwell in your heart, pray, seek counsel from other Bible believing Christians, and if there is no whistle, go for it!

Prayer :

Father guide my choices today by Your Word and by Your peace. For Jesus sake, Amen.
