BLESS THE BLESSER
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!"
Revelation 5:11-12
Momentarily sit under the weight of this passage. John recorded this powerful scene, describing a moment in heaven when God held a scroll sealed with seven seals. John described an angel asking the question: "Who is worthy to open the scroll and loose it's seals?"
Sadly, none was found worthy to open the scroll, and John began to weep. Then one of the twenty-four elders said to John, "Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that He can open the scroll and it's seven seals."
John turned to see the Lion but saw only a Lamb standing as though slain.
This Lamb took the scroll from the hand of God, and heaven responded by singing a new song in celebration of the Lamb's death and His resurrection that had redeemed people from every tribe and every nation.
Heaven celebrated the Lamb, declaring that He is worthy "to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing." And our worship and celebration of Jesus of His life, death, and resurrection are blessings to our Savior. Will you be a blessing today to One who has blessed you with forgiveness and redemption?
Prayer :
Jesus, You alone are worthy of all praise and honor and glory! I thank You for Your life, Your death, and Your resurrection.
