FATHER GOD WATCHES OVER US
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance. The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.
Psalm 33:12-15
Have you ever wanted a magic wand that gave you the ability to shape your future or a crystal ball to get a glimpse of what's ahead? When it comes to shaping your future, though, who could do a better job than the all wise, all loving, all powerful Creator God?
Our heavenly Father not only created us, but He also chose us as His inheritance
(Psalm 139:14; 33:12). In other words, He has adopted us as His children, making us "joint heirs with Christ" (1 John 3:1; Romans 8:17). That means, among other things, that we are always under the watchful eye of our heavenly Father. Absolutely nothing can escape His oversight of His people.
The psalmist also taught that God has created us to honor and serve Him as Yahweh. In His total sovereignty and supremacy over all creation and it's inhabitants, God rules rightfully and with authority (Psalm 24:1-2). The psalmist honored the nation Israel as God's chosen people, as His inheritance among the nations.
I'm grateful that even today our heavenly Father continues to adopt people into His family inheritance according to His plan and purpose.
Prayer :
Father God, thank You that You have chosen to watch over Your people the way a shepherd watches over his sheep. And thank You for truly blessing us with an eternal inheritance in You. May we as a nation bless You.
