FINDING HOPE

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may be abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

When Paul closed his letter to the church at Rome, he invoked "the God of hope," the Source of joy and peace. This benediction implies that our joy and peace depend on hope. Now, joy is not the same as happiness. We experience happiness when something good happens; we know joy in spite of our circumstances. Finally, peace is inner tranquility even in adversity.
And, according to Paul, we find both joy and peace through hope in Christ. Hope is our faith projected into the future. Our attitude toward the future greatly affects our joy and peace in the present. If we look forward to God's blessing in the future, we more easily have an attitude of joy today. If we trust God with out futures and the futures of our loved ones, we experience peace right now. We experience hope through the power of the Holy Spirit, and we receive the Holy Spirit the moment we name Jesus our Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in our lives. Psalm 16:11 teaches, "In Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever." The Hebrew word for presence is panim, meaning "face to face." When we are face to face with someone, we are getting to know that person. When we are in close relationship with God face to face with Him we experience His presence ad His power in our lives, and we find hope.

Prayer :

Lord, help me rest in Your presence in my life, so I may know the power of Your Spirit blessing me with hope for my future.

Amen
