IT'S ALL ABOUT LIFE "IN HIM"

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first turned in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 1:11-12

Over the next couple of days, our devotions will be based on Ephesians 1:11-19. We'll observe God's sovereign plan of salvation for His people and the eternal inheritance He has reserved for us in heaven.
The apostle Paul often used the term mystery to refer to God's truth that was once hidden but is now revealed. Christians have not only been blessed with the promise of eternal life (John 3:16), but
have also inherited God's eternal truth...through His eternal Word (John 8:32; 1 Peter 1:25). Specifically, it was God's plan from the beginning to send His Son, to be the sacrifice for our sins and the One to save us from our sins.
The life-changing truth is gospel's mystery, which Paul alluded to with his often used phrase "in Him." Paul taught, for example, that "in Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Ephesians 1:7); "in Him we have obtained an inheritance" (verse 11); and "in Him you also trusted after you heard the word of truth" (verse 13).  Clearly, our eternal inheritance as described in the Word of life is all about being "in Him," our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
In His sovereignty, God predestined and transformed all "who first trusted in Christ...to the praise of His glory" (verse 12). What a blessing to be among His chosen people! May we never forget the price God paid to redeem us and claim us as His inheritance.

Prayer :

I praise You, heavenly Father, for choosing me in Christ to be part of Your eternal inheritance!

Amen
