KEEP PRAYING!
"Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?" Matthew 7:7-10
My wife, Gina, suffered a massive stroke. The doctors told me that she wouldn't live through the day. As I called our children and other family members, I thought about what Jesus said about persistent prayer: if we ask, seek, and knock, our prayers will be answered. So all day long I prayed, and prayer warriors all across the nation and even around the world were notified, and they prayed. Tens of thousands of people were praying, and God answered our prayers. Gina lived through that day, and a year later after nine surgeries and months of rehab she is, according to medical professionals, a living miracle.
Persistent prayer is not easy. It requires work and perseverance. We have to keep at it until God answers! We have to be like a child who wants to ask his mother his something. If she is not nearby, the child seeks. And if she is in a room and the door is shut, the child knocks on the door until it opens it.
The process of asking, seeking, and knocking reminds us that we need God and are dependent on Him. We bow before His throne, ready to accept His throne, ready to accept His kingdom purposes, and we keep praying. Regardless of the circumstances, we must keep praying!
Prayer :
Father, thank You that You don't tire of our prayers. Give me strength to keep praying and grace to accept the purpose You are accomplishing when life is difficult. In Jesus name, Amen.
