LOVING GOD AND ONE ANOTHER

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 1 John 3:21-23

Since the heavenly Father through His Son has given us such love, we are able to love others. More than fifty-five times in the New Testament we find the term "one another." In this passage, for instance, we find the command "love one another." Such loving becomes a reality when we are found believing and obeying the Word of God.
At times we find it difficult to love others, a difficulty that is often due to our own insecurities and doubts. However, when we allow the love of God to fill our hearts, love eradicates self-condemnation and "we have confidence toward God."
He answers our prayers due to the fact that we "keep His Word and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." We do what He in His Word has called us to do.
In essence, Christ and His Word are active in our lives as we pray, trust, and obey. Our belief on "the name of His Son Jesus Christ" is in line with the first of the Ten Commandments: "you shall have no other gods before Me" (Exodus 20:30). At the same time, our belief is an aspect of loving the Lord with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength. When we do, He changes our hearts from feeling condemned to feeling confident as we obey His commands.

Prayer :

Lord, Your Word works in my heart, and I am grateful. Amen
