DEPEND ON GOD

When they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Matthew 10:19-20



We are inclined to read many Scripture passages within a historical context only. We then often have difficulty relating them to ourselves or the circumstances of our lives. In some parts of the world those who follow Jesus are experiencing persecution and adversity that is very real. When living in a Christian society, we find it very hard to think that it is possible to be imprisoned because you are a Christian, to be challenged to defend your faith, and sometimes even your life.
Nowadays it is more likely that you will be tested in your daily activities. Your test will come when you have to comfort someone who has experienced a tragic loss, to express words of hope to someone who threatens to commit suicide, or reassure the invalid, who suffers constant pain, that God loves him.
Then it is important that you, as well as the one that you are ministering to, should depend totally on the grace of Jesus Christ.
Open up your life completely to receive His Spirit and He will inspire you with the words you need to say.


Prayer :

Holy Spirit, what a wonderful comfort you are in every situation. Flow through me so I too can be a comfort to those in need.
