SAFE IN GOD’S HAND
We are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:39
It is very interesting to study people’s reactions to the circumstances they find themselves in. In most cases, their attitude is determined by what’s going on around them.
If the country experiences an economic slump, they immediately feel depressed; crime and unrest paralyze them with fear; personal setbacks create a feeling of hopelessness; sorrow drives them to despair. The end result in many cases is that they simply give up. Suddenly life loses it’s meaning, it’s purpose and it’s joy. The are like people who stumble along in darkness.
The one very important fact which we have to cling to in the midst of setbacks, is that Christ, through the Holy Spirit, is always with us and that He is holding us in the hollow of His hand. Indeed He is the One who came to give us life in abundance (see John 10:10). This implies that He wants what is best for you under all circumstances. In order for you to obtain that, Jesus has made the utmost sacrifice. And through that act He has overcome evil for time and eternity.
When circumstances seem dark and ominous to you, remember that you are a child of God, He loves you and cares for you; He wants to, and can protect you from all evil. Believe His promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Put your trust totally in Him and He will lift you from your depression and fear.
Prayer :
Loving Savior, grant me the peace that comes only from security in You. Thank You that You are always with me.
