THE CORNERSTONE OF YOUR FAITH

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

The Christian Faith has many facets. People regard and interpret the teachings of Christ according to their own frame of reference, traditions and personality. Disaster enters your spiritual life when you deny the fact that another person’s viewpoint could be correct, even though it differs from yours. Such a denial is the result of fanaticism and pettiness.
The real test of your faith is the amount of love you have towards others, especially those whose beliefs differ radically from yours. Such a faith can only have it’s roots in a way of life that stays so close to Christ that His love starts flowing through you to others. Your love for Christ includes all people who love Him, even though you may not be able to agree with them on an intellectual level about matters such as dogma and church government.
Love should be predominant in your spiritual life. This love doesn’t always mean peacefulness. There are times when it challenges and reprimands; it makes you feel humble in order that you may be carried to great spiritual heights; it empties you of yourself, of covetousness and pride, in order that you may be filled with the love of God. If you love God and His love finds expression in you, you will find that that loves extends to your fellow man.


Prayer :
Lord. I pray that love will flow through me in abundance. Increase my love for others so that people will be able to see You in me.
