GRATITUDE

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Philippians 4:4

Many people experience their religion as a somber burden which they feel compelled to bear. They feel compelled to attend church services and to worship, and when they don’t do it, they feel very guilty. Bible study and prayer have become a form of duty to them which they have to do in order to please a formidable God. The result is that their submission to the Christian teachings and objectives is simply a colorless habit which doesn’t have any deeper meaning to them.

This approach is a total misrepresentation! There is nothing colorless or boring about Christ’s life here on earth and there is nothing dull in the abundant life which Hd offers us. As with everything else in life, it depends on what you make of it. If you are experiencing a colorless spiritual life, you should take a serious look at yourself.

Jesus Christ invites you to become part of His life. He wants to become a part of your life, in order that, as He Himself said, “Your joy no one will take from you” (John 16:22 NKJV). Then the joy of Christ becomes full in our lives. The whole Christian experience is one of great joy because Jesus overcame sin and death.

With such rich inheritance to look forward to, can you do otherwise than to rejoice in the Lord in such a way that the whole world will know who your Source of joy is? Let us stop cursing the darkness and rather light a candle of joy, thus helping to dispel the darkness.

Prayer :

O Lord, I rejoice in You. I take delight in Your presence.

Amen
