SERVE CHRIST JOYFULLY

If you love Me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15

Many people regard their surrender to Christ as a strict discipline that adds an unbearable burden on their lives. They feel that the cost of being a discipline is too high a price to pay. As the demands of their faith increase, their grip on Christ weakens until they completely lose it and relapse. They consequently lead an unsatisfying spiritual life that lacks fulfillment.

You must never regard your attachment to the cause of Christ as a burden. Your life in Christ should be joyful, and as you grow in Christ, your joy should increase. If you are truly devoted to Christ, your highest desire will be to get to know Him better and serve Him more effectively. As you grow in faith you will constantly strive towards ways of serving Him better because you want to not because you have to.

To reach this point in your pilgrimage, you have to get to know Him increasingly better through Bible study and wholesome Christian literature. However, you also have to know the living Christ personally by talking with Him in prayer. Strive to be with Christ, and the more He becomes an inseparable part of your life, the more joy will experience in His service.

Prayer :

I rejoice in Your service, O Lord. Thank You for this wonderful privilege.

Amen
