CHRISTLIKE HAPPINESS

 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. 

Psalms 24:4-5

Christ's happiness, blessing and joy are indestructible (see John 16:22). Christ's happiness that cannot be erased by sorrow, loss, disappointment or failure. It is a happiness that still sees a rainbow through your tears. It is something that nothing in life or death can deprive us of. 

Christ's happiness is born from an intimate walk with God: today, through the dark night, tomorrow and every day. It is like the depth of the ocean that surges and seethes above, where waves toss and break, causing rough waters. However, underneath, it is quiet and calm. It is like the little bird that builds it's nest on the rocky ledge under the thundering roar of the waterfall and, in the midst of the storm, serenely sits on it's nest, hatching it's little eggs.

Christ's happiness does not necessarily coincide with our circumstances. It is a deep joy, everlasting and steadfast. It is furthermore not something that we could cultivate through effort. It is a gift of God in our lives. The Holy Spirit will guide us to be obedient to the demands of Christ, so that His happiness and blessing will become our portion. 

Prayer : 

Loving Master, Thank You that You bestow is steadfast and indestructible, unlike the temporary and transient happiness of the world.
